The authority-figure premise is everywhere on Candy Shorts and it almost always collapses in the first episode, because the series is in a hurry. Yes, Coach is the one that waits.
The setup
A rookie arrives. The coach is ice-cold, married to the person who owns the franchise, and she singles him out for punishment that is not quite only punishment. The gap between those two readings is the series, and it holds the gap open for longer than you expect.
How it plays out
What makes it work is register. The writing stays clipped and professional while the situation stops being either, and that contrast does more than any amount of escalation would. Series that go loud early have nowhere left; this one keeps something back.

The weaknesses are structural. Five episodes is a beat too few for the escalation it sets up, and a thread about the owner husband gets raised in episode 2 and then quietly abandoned. If you know the sport, the sports detail will not survive scrutiny, but it is set dressing and it is not really trying to.
